About this solution
The logo behind the reception desk is the first thing someone entering sees, and the background of every photograph taken there. Unlike an exterior sign it is read from a metre away — which changes the requirements completely: here the cut edge, the thickness of the material and the way it is fixed to the wall all show.
It is made from acrylic, wood, MDF or metal, and the pieces can be spray-finished in any colour, including a specific brand shade, matt or gloss. Combinations work well indoors: wood with stainless steel, matt acrylic with a lacquered letter.
Fixing is on standoffs, which lift the logo off the wall and give it a shadow of its own, or bonded flat for a flush look. Standoffs are almost always the better choice: the shadow gives depth and forgives small irregularities in the wall.
Illumination is optional and, indoors, restrained: halo lighting for a glow on the wall behind, or lit letters where the space is dark. In a well-lit office an unlit logo often looks better than a lit one.
Frequently asked questions
All frequently asked questionsLit or unlit for a reception?
It depends on the light in the room. In a well-lit space, an unlit logo on standoffs, with its shadow, looks clean and expensive. Lighting earns its place where the wall is dark, where the logo has to read down a corridor, or when a particular effect in photographs is wanted.
Can an exact brand colour be matched?
Yes — the pieces are spray-finished and the colour can be matched to a reference. Worth knowing that the same colour reads differently matt versus gloss, and under warm versus cool light, so the finish is chosen together with the colour rather than after it.
How much does a reception logo cost?
The price starts from the overall width of the composition and the material: acrylic and MDF are the starting point, solid wood and metal sit above. Spray-finishing to a specific colour adds to it, as does lighting if you want it — indoors it is optional and often unnecessary. Mounting on standoffs costs a little more than bonding flat, and almost always looks better. Send us the logo and the width of the wall.
