About this solution

Interior printing is how a bare wall becomes part of the fit-out: a photograph as wallpaper across the whole wall behind reception, a map of the city along a hotel corridor, the company's values on the meeting-room wall, a children's drawing in a clinic's waiting room, wood-grain film on the doors of an old cupboard. Unlike paint or shop-bought wallpaper, it carries exactly the image wanted, at the size of the wall.

It is printed at photographic resolution on vinyl or non-woven wallpaper, on self-adhesive film for walls and furniture, on canvas for pictures, on rigid panels — PVC, composite, acrylic — and on glass, with odour-free inks suited to rooms where people work and sleep. The print is laminated where it is touched or washed — corridors, doors, children's areas — with a matt or gloss layer that protects it from scratches. The file is prepared at the wall's full size, with the image split into drops that join invisibly.

What separates a good print from a poor one is the image it starts from and the installation: a photograph off the internet blown up to three metres looks like a photograph off the internet, however good the printer. So the image is checked for resolution before printing and, if need be, reshot or redrawn as vector. At installation the wall is prepared — flat, clean, primed — or every bump shows through the wallpaper.

Installation is done by Pandor's own team, in sections, without closing the office or the shop: outside peak hours, with furniture moved and put back. Send us a photograph of the wall, its size and the image or the idea, and we say which material it is made on and how it is installed.

Frequently asked questions

All frequently asked questions
Wallpaper or self-adhesive film?

Wallpaper for whole walls, especially on plaster and plasterboard: it goes up with paste, covers small irregularities and comes off at renovation. Self-adhesive film for smooth surfaces — glass, furniture, doors, gloss-painted walls — and for details cut to an outline. On a wall with bumps, film shows every one of them; wallpaper forgives them.

What resolution does the image need?

For a whole wall, as high as possible: a photograph from a modern phone at full resolution is usually enough; one downloaded from the internet is not. Logos and text are taken as vector files, so they are sharp at any size. Send the image and we tell you whether it works at the wall's size or has to be reshot or redrawn.

Can it be installed without closing the office?

Yes, that is how we usually work: in sections, outside peak hours or after closing, with furniture moved and put back. The inks have no smell, so no airing is needed, and the dusty wall preparation is done beforehand, at an agreed hour.

What should I send for a quote?

A photograph of the wall or surface, its size, the image or the idea — even described in words — and where it is: lobby, office, children's room, retail space. From those follow the material, whether it needs laminating and how it is installed.
