About this solution

Lux LED Frame is the light panel for places where an ordinary lightbox would be too thick: a reception wall, an office corridor, a pharmacy window, a display space. It is from 25 millimetres deep, hangs on the wall like a picture and lights evenly across its whole surface, without the LED dots a thin box made any other way shows.

The secret is the edge-lit acrylic plate: the LEDs sit in the aluminium frame, along the edge, the light enters the acrylic and is brought out to the face by a pattern of dots on the back, calculated so the light is as strong in the middle as at the edges. The plate carries either engraved graphics — a logo, text, a drawing whose lines light up in the otherwise clear acrylic — or a printed fabric or film held in the frame by a system that opens by hand. The frame is made in any size and the colour wanted, and the power supply hides in it or in the wall.

A good panel is known by the evenness of its light and by how the face is changed: if the middle is darker than the edges, the plate was not calculated for its size; if changing the face takes tools and two people, the panel will never be changed. The dot pattern is made for each size, and the frame opens on clips or magnets.

It mounts on the wall, on standoffs or recessed, hangs from the ceiling or stands on a leg; for windows it is made double-sided. Being thin and light, it goes where nothing else lit will fit — between shelves, in niches, on a column. The graphics are changed in minutes by the client, from a file at the panel's size.

Frequently asked questions

All frequently asked questions
How is it different from an ordinary lightbox?

In depth and in how it lights: an ordinary lightbox has its LEDs at the back and needs depth for the light to even out; Lux LED Frame has its LEDs on the edge and an acrylic plate carrying the light to the face, which is why it is from 25 millimetres deep and shows no dots. Indoors, where depth is in the way and the face changes often, it is the natural choice; outdoors the ordinary lightbox remains the better fit.

Engraved or printed face?

Engraved when the image is a logo or text that stays, and when the effect of lit lines in a clear plate is wanted — on a reception wall, in front of a window. A printed fabric or film when the image is photographic or changes — a menu, a campaign, a seasonal poster. The frame is the same; you can switch from one to the other.

How is the face changed?

Without tools: the frame opens on clips or magnets, the old face comes out, the new one goes in and the frame closes. One person does it in a few minutes. New faces are printed at the panel's exact size from a file we give, by us or by another printer.

What should I send for a quote?

The size wanted or the size of the spot on the wall, with a photograph, the image or the logo, whether the panel goes on the wall, hangs or stands on a leg, and whether the face will change. From those follow the type of frame, engraved or printed, and the fixing.
