About this solution

A textile lightbox is the modern form of the light box: an aluminium profile frame holding a tensioned printed fabric, fixed around the edge by a silicone strip sewn into the hem. The result is a perfectly flat surface with no visible frame and no reflections.

The main advantage is changing the graphic. The fabric pulls out of the channel and another goes in within minutes, without tools and without taking the box down. For a retail space changing its campaign each season, that means only the print is remade, not the whole box.

Printing is onto textile, with inks that hold up to being lit from behind without fading. Across large areas, fabric looks more even than acrylic and weighs a great deal less, which simplifies fixing to walls that would not carry an equivalent rigid box.

They are used most often indoors — shops, showrooms, receptions, exhibition stands — but outdoors too, with materials and frames chosen for it. They can be lit or unlit, single- or double-sided, at sizes a conventional box could not reach without visible joins.

Frequently asked questions

All frequently asked questions
How quickly can the graphic be changed?

In minutes, by your own staff, without tools. The fabric is drawn out of the profile channel along one edge and the new one fed in. The box stays on the wall; only the print changes.

Can textile lightboxes be used outdoors?

Yes, with materials and frames chosen for it. What differs is the fabric — it has to withstand damp and ultraviolet — and the sealing of the frame. A textile box meant for indoors, mounted outside, gets dirty and goes slack.

How much does a textile lightbox cost?

It is costed per square metre, and the biggest difference is whether it is lit — lighting brings the LED modules, the drivers and a deeper frame. Then whether it reads from one side or two, and whether it sits indoors or out, because the fabric and the sealing differ. Extra fabrics, for changing the campaign, cost only the printing: the frame stays. Tell us the size and where it goes.
